Skilled Worker in PEI

Summary:

The Skilled Worker Stream of the PEI Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) allows Island employers to hire international workers for high-skilled positions they cannot fill locally. To qualify, you must already be employed by a PEI employer with a valid job offer.

Please note: candidates employed in sales and service occupations may not receive invitations to apply at this time.

Eligibility Requirements

You may be eligible for the PEI Skilled Worker Stream if you meet the following criteria:

  • Have a full-time, non-seasonal job offer (permanent or at least two years) from a PEI employer in a high-skilled occupation (TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3 under the TEER system).

  • Possess at least two years of full-time work experience within the last five years.

  • Hold a valid Canadian work permit.

  • Have legal status in your current country of residence.

  • Successfully completed a post-secondary degree or diploma (minimum two-year program).

  • Be 18 to 59 years old.

  • Demonstrate language proficiency in English and/or French through one of the following:

    • An approved language test taken within the last two years, showing at least CLB/NCLC 4, OR

    • A PEIW-02: Workforce Job Offer Form completed by your employer confirming your ability to perform the job in English and/or French.

  • Show proof of sufficient financial resources to cover immigration costs, travel expenses, and settlement in PEI.

  • Demonstrate a genuine intention to live and work in PEI.

Application Process

  1. Read the Workforce Application Guide carefully.

  2. Create a profile in the Prince Edward Island Expression of Interest (EOI) system. You’ll need:

    • A valid email address.

    • Personal identification details, including your passport.

  3. Once verified, complete your profile. Applicants may only hold one active profile at a time.

  • Profiles stay active for six months. Keep your information up to date and accurate.

  • If your situation changes before receiving an invitation, update your profile.

  • If your situation changes after receiving an invitation, notify the Office immediately, as this could impact the final decision.

If invited to apply, you’ll receive an email with your file number and submission instructions. You must complete all application forms, and your employer must also submit the required employer forms.

 

Fees

  • EOI Profile: Free to submit.

  • Application Fee: $300 CAD (non-refundable) if invited to apply.

    • Accepted payment methods: Mastercard, Visa, Mastercard Debit, and Visa Debit.

    • Payment is due when submitting the Workforce Application Form.

    • Applications are only accepted with an approved payment.
