Saskatchewan International Graduate Entrepreneur Category

Summary:

The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) offers the International Graduate Entrepreneur Category, providing international graduates from eligible Saskatchewan institutions the opportunity to establish, acquire, or partner in a business within the province. This pathway leads to provincial nomination for permanent residency in Canada.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Age: Applicants must be at least 21 years old.

  • Education: Completion of a full-time post-secondary degree or diploma of at least two years from an eligible Saskatchewan institution.

  • Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP): Applicants must hold a valid PGWP with at least 24 months of eligibility remaining at the time of Expression of Interest (EOI) submission.

  • Residency: Applicants must have resided in Saskatchewan during their academic program.

  • Language Proficiency: A minimum Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level of 7 in English or French.

Application Process

  1. Expression of Interest (EOI):

    • Submit an EOI to the SINP, detailing your personal information, education, work experience, and proposed business idea.
  2. Invitation to Apply (ITA):

    • If selected from the EOI pool, receive an ITA from the SINP.
  3. Application Submission:

    • Submit a comprehensive application, including a detailed Business Establishment Plan (BEP), proof of education, language proficiency results, and other supporting documents.
  4. Business Performance Agreement (BPA):

    • If approved, sign a BPA outlining the terms and conditions for your business operations in Saskatchewan.
  5. Business Establishment:

    • Establish and actively operate your business in Saskatchewan for at least one year, adhering to the BPA terms.
  6. Nomination for Permanent Residency:

    • Upon fulfilling the BPA conditions, apply for provincial nomination for permanent residency.

Applicants must own at least one-third (33.3%) of the business and be actively involved in its day-to-day management. The business must be a for-profit entity with the primary purpose of earning profits through the sale of goods and/or services. After one year of operation, the business should generate the minimum required revenue, which varies depending on the number of employees.
