Good Faith Deposit: Submit a refundable deposit of $75,000 CAD and sign a Performance Agreement committing to purchase and actively operate a farm in Saskatchewan.
Young Farmer Stream
For applicants under 40 years of age, the Young Farmer Stream offers modified criteria:
Net Worth: Minimum of $300,000 CAD.
Experience: At least three years of experience in farm ownership, farm management, or practical farming.
Farm Proposal: A viable proposal for a commercial farming opportunity in Saskatchewan.
Supplementary Income: Potential to supplement farming income with marketable employment skills of the applicant or accompanying spouse/common-law partner.
Application Process
Exploratory Visit:
- Conduct a minimum five-day exploratory visit to Saskatchewan to research farming opportunities and meet with a SINP representative.
Application Submission:
- Submit a comprehensive application including proof of net worth, farm experience, and a detailed Farm Establishment Plan.
Assessment and Interview:
- The SINP will assess the application and may conduct an interview to discuss the farm proposal.
Approval and Deposit:
- If approved, sign a Performance Agreement and submit the $75,000 CAD Good Faith Deposit.
Nomination and Permanent Residency:
- Receive a provincial nomination and apply for Canadian permanent residency.
Farm Establishment and Deposit Refund:
- Establish and operate the farm as per the Performance Agreement. After meeting the terms for at least six months, apply for a refund of the Good Faith Deposit.
