Critical Worker Stream
Summary:
The Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) – Critical Worker Stream helps Island employers fill intermediate-skilled positions that cannot be met through the local labour market.
This is an employer-driven stream: applicants must already be employed in PEI and have a valid job offer. Successful candidates may apply for permanent residency once nominated.
Note: PEI’s immigration pathways are dependent on federal immigration allocations, application volumes, and labour market needs. At present, priority is being given to health care, trades, childcare, and other high-demand sectors. Applications from sales and service workers may not be invited at this time.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the PEI Critical Worker Stream, you must:
Have a full-time, non-seasonal job offer (minimum 2 years) from a PEI employer in a TEER 4 or 5 occupation.
Have completed at least 6 months of continuous, full-time employment with the PEI employer.
Hold a valid work permit and maintain legal status in Canada.
Have a secondary school diploma (minimum).
Be 18 to 59 years of age.
